Generic Betaxolol belongs to beta blocker class of medication that works by acting on elevated as well as normal intraocular pressure when used as an ophthalmic solution. It helps in the treatment of open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension to prevent blindness.

Who should not take Betaxolol

  • Hypersensitive individuals to Betaxolol or any other ingredient present in eye drop should not take it.
  • Pregnant ladies and nursing mothers avoid its use.
  • Patients with known medical history of pulmonary disease or bronchial asthma must take precaution before its use.
  • Patients with known symptom of dry eyes are precautious with its use.

How you should take Betaxolol?

  • Adult dose: One drop of Betaxolol 0.5 % ophthalmic solution is instilled two times a day in affected eye.
  • It is not recommended for children and dose must be adjusted in elder patients.
  • Try to avoid contamination of bottle tip with fingers or any other surface or matter.

What should be done in case of doses if-?

Missed Dose- Take missed dose as soon as possible but do not double your dose.

Over Dose- Consult your eye specialist or nearby physician.
